Emily Volkert has been rowing with Centennial’s CREW and community since 2016. Over the years, Emily served as an instructional coach and reading support teacher at Centennial. Emily’s education journey has also included teaching children and adults to ride horses as a wrangler at a dude ranch, English to K – 8th graders in Patagonia, Chile, 5th graders in Nashville, Tennessee, and 3rd grade bilingual students at Newlon Elementary in Denver Public Schools. Emily has also been a literacy specialist for DPS. She has a B.A. in International Affairs, Environmental Studies and Economics and a M.A. in Teaching, Learning and Leading and an M.A. in Instructional Leadership. She is passionate about fostering independence and a sense of wonder to enable kids and communities to succeed. Outside of Centennial, Emily enjoys cooking and hiking with her husband, learning to play the guitar and gardening.
