Centennial, A School for Expeditionary Learning (Northwest Denver) is a neighborhood school for ECE through 5th grade.

Our mission at Centennial is to have an inclusive school that fosters each child’s sense of wonder and adventure through exemplary standards of character, academic achievement, and social responsibility.

The Expeditionary Learning model nurtures critical thinking, employs inquiry and real-life problem solving, sets high social and academic expectations, encourages perseverance, and utilizes opportunities which support cooperation and trust.

Centennial is very proud to say that we are the first neighborhood school in DPS implementing the Expeditionary Learning model!

Here are some of highlights of the great things we have at Centennial to support the achievement of all our students and make Centennial the best learning environment it can be.

  • Centennial has six full-time Enrichment teachers: Art, Music, PE, Science, Spanish, and Technology. Students in grades Students in ECE4 through 5th Grade participate in these enrichments.
  • We have a full-time Teacher Librarian on staff to work collaboratively with all teachers and ensure 21st Century Skills are woven into standards based instruction across all classrooms.
  • Centennial is partnering with Math Fellows and Literacy Fellows to implement various mentoring, intervention and social support through out the school community.
  • Centennial offers before/after school programs to students in grades K-5 through a 21st Century Grant.
