Neighborhood Center Classes & Events

What is a Neighborhood Center?

Denver Public Schools has after school programming in almost 50 schools, and many are comprehensive Neighborhood Centers. At Centennial we are starting our 6th year as a Neighborhood Center! Our programming includes:

  • Discovery Link – licensed before and after school childcare
  • Dismissal Day and Break camps
  • Clubs
  • And more!

Club details

  • Game Creator! Make your own games, play them and then challenge your friends to play. Incorporates challenge and sportsmanship in friendly environment. With Mr. Justin on Mondays for K-2nd graders. (no fee)
  • Game Day Stay active and have fun playing a variety of gym and possibly outdoor games with Mr. Colin. Just for 3rd – 5th graders. Plan on being active the whole time (that means good shoes and appropriate clothing). You will use strategy, competition and skill for games tailored to older students. (no fee)
  • Lego II: Lego robotics for students 3rd – 5th grade. This class is so much fun that I want to join. Mr. Colin will be teaching this class with the same basic curriculum, new students and returning students are welcome to join. (no fee)
  • YOGA with Mr. John: Wednesdays with K-2nd graders. Mr. John taught a great yoga class last year and we are looking forward to his kid-friendly style again this year. The sessions alternate each time to focus on older or younger students. (no fee)
  • Art For Life, Wednesdays, 3-5, Art for Life has taught classes at Centennial for over 2 years and the teachers are looking forward to offering art activities based on student interest to build their skills. This is for older students, the sessions alternate between older and younger students each time. (no fee)
  • ECE 4 year old Recycle Art! We have had a special class just for 4 year old students the last 2 years. This session will be Recycle Art! Never throw a good paper towel tube away again. Students are picked up from class by the instructor Ms. Myrisa. This class has a $60 fee for each 6 week session, limited to 10 students.
  • Parent – Child Great Games Ms. Anne: Never learned to play mancala, a little rusty on rock-paper-scissors? Want to try out and play popular games with your children and Ms. Anne. Intended for younger students to play with a parent or family member. Each class will start with a group game, learning a new type of game and then plenty of time to just play! (no fee)

Discovery Link
