What is a Neighborhood Center?

Denver Public Schools has after school programming in almost 50 schools, and many are comprehensive Neighborhood Centers. At Centennial we are starting our 6th year as a Neighborhood Center! Our programming includes:

    • Discovery Link – licensed before and after school childcare
    • Dismissal Day and Break camps
    • Clubs

And more!

Session E: April 16th to May 25th

As many of you know we have a grant that supports many free programs. We are running to the end of those funds for this school year and will be charging for a few more options.

Club details

MONDAY

  • Ooze and Goos: Back for another session by popular demand, Ooze and Goos with Mr. Justin (grades K-2). This is for students who did not get a chance to participate in the fall session, please note on the registration form if you want to be added to a wait list for students who have done the class before.
  • Flag Football with Mr. Colin :Finally Spring has Sprung and we are outside for Flag Football with Mr. Colin (gym as a back up). We will play on the far south field near the playground. Open to boys and girls grades 3-5. (no fee)

TUESDAY

  • Meiyo-do Martial Arts: Martial Arts based on traditional southern Chinese style. Through hard work students can gain self-confidence, strength, courage, the ability to preservers and a sense of unity and family. Lots of individual attention with a minimum registration of 6 and a maximum of 20. For all ages, including adults! The fee is an amazing $15 per month, per student and $20 per month for adult participants.
  • Spanish: A fun and crafty way to learn Spanish. Each 6 week session will end with inviting parents to a show out and share. Ms. Lourdes is our fabulous Spanish Teacher for Centennial. The session is $60 for the 6 weeks and open to students K-2nd. First priority for continuing students.
  • SPARK for 3rd-5th: Our longest running program is now available for the 3rd to 5th grade students. Get active with Mr. Colin with warm-ups and cooperative games including lots of student choice. We will be outside so plan on dressing for the weather.

WEDNESDAY

  • Art For Life, K-2nd: Please note due to grant funding in the process of ending there is a $75 charge for this 6 week session. Art for Life has taught classes at Centennial for over 2 years and the teachers are looking forward to offering art activities based on student interest to build their skills. This session is for younger students, the sessions alternate between older and younger students each time.
  • SPARK Fitness, K-2: Ms. Michelle has been teaching this popular club for 2 years! Kids get a warm up, highly engaging games and go home fit and tired! You do not need to sign up again if you are continuing, however if you plan on not attending this session please let us know. (no fee)
  • YOGA with Mr. John, K-2nd: One last session with Mr. John to get centered, stretched and mindful. This has been a very popular class with all ages this year,
    ECE 4 year Garden We are ending the year with getting outside and exploring the garden. More hands on activities with take home projects. Ms. Myrisa has a lot of great ideas ahead! $60 for the last 6 week session.

THURSDAY

  • Under the Sea with Mr. Colin, K-2nd: Exploring under the sea with crafts that relate to ocean science. Mr. Colin has a lot of great plans that are kid tested and ready to go. (no fee)

Discovery Link

Licensed childcare for children 5-12 years old. Care is available from 6:30am and until 6:00pm every day that school is in session.
