There will be two sessions.

Session #1 6-6:40pm

Session #2 6:50-7:30pm

Please stay for Movie Night hosted by the PTA. Bring blankets and meet on the soccer field after Back to School Night. There will be popsicle treats and lots of fun.

Welcome to the 2013-14 school year.

We have made it through a great first week of school. The halls and classrooms are bustling with students eager to learn and grow. I am pleased to report they are already demonstrating many of the habits of scholarship we have adopted at Centennial. As a school for expeditionary learning those habits include respect, responsibility, leadership and wonder.

I am thrilled as we begin this new year of transformation. The teachers, staff and school leaders have been preparing for and planning a school that will help our students grow and take responsibility for their own learning. When you come to Centennial you can expect to see highly motivated and engaged students, who feel safe, respected and are pushed to achieve at high academic and behavioral standards. I look forward to working with you and your children as we begin this transformation.

This year I am participating in the DPS Learn to Lead Principal Residency program. This residency gives me an opportunity to grow as an instructional and professional leader. In addition to leadership development, I will work to support teachers in developing the high academic standards our students deserve.

It has been my pleasure to get to know our students and families over the past two years and I am committed to continuing those relationships as we move through the school year. It is my hope that this will be a year of wonder, transformation and joy for our students and families. I hope you will visit the school often and I look forward to seeing you.

5000 New Books for Centennial

On August 28th Centennial will be receiving 5000 new books for our library. This generous gift is being made possible by KPMG and their Sponsorship of LPGA golfer Stacy Lewis. The challenge was, if Stacy Lewis won the British Open, then KPMG would donate 5000 books to Centennial’s library. And on August 4th, Stacy won the British Open which means 5000 new books for our library.

Innovation Plan

Hi Fabulous Centennial Parents,

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the summer.

As you know, we go in front of the Board of Ed to present our Innovation Plan Monday the 17th. Any and all physical support from parents would be awesome. This meeting is not one for public comment, as I think that happens Thursday.

Also, wanted to let you know that the teacher vote on the plan has closed and we reached the super majority needed! One positive step toward the end!!

Thanks for all you do to support Centennial. We’re SO close!!
